Veolia Transport in Finland has won the Tampere city bus tender in the southwest part of Finland. This was the first time bus traffic was out for tender in the city of Tampere.
The new five-year contract with a three-year mutual option will be in effect as of August 11, 2008 and involves 6 vehicles and about 25 employees.
“We are very happy to be awarded this contract after a long time of waiting for the deregulation of bus traffic in the city of Tampere. We are looking forward to providing customers in the city of Tampere with Veolia Transport’s service quality,” says Markku Haavisto, Managing Director of Veolia Transport Finland.
The Tampere city operation will add to Veolia Transport’s present operations in the Tampere area including 24 buses.
